CLIMATE CHANGE,

THE SMART GRID,

& THE FUTURE OF

ELECTRIC UTILITES

I am a Professor of the Practice at the Boston University Questrom School of Business where I am leading the creation of a University-wide Institute for Sustainable Energy.   In addition, I have a part-time appointment as Chief Strategy Officer for Energy Impact Partners, a private equity firm (www.energyimpactpartners.com).  EIP invests in start-up companies in the clean energy space and is co-owned by a number of large electric utilities.   I am also an academic advisor to The Brattle Group (www.brattle.com), an economic and financial consulting firm where I was previously a principal and Director. The Brattle Group has a large and constantly changing set of clients for whom we provide economic, regulatory, financial, and strategic consulting. Finally, I am on the board of directors of LRI. Inc, an energy efficiency firm, the Solar Foundation, and the advisory board of EOS Energy Storage. I have been an occasional advisor to the Rocky Mountain Institute, the Energy Future Coalition, the Utilities 2020 Project, and every Democratic nominee’s Presidential election campaign since 1988.
